Optic neuritis

The optic nerve becomes inflamed. 

A common eye problem where inflammation or demyelination affects the optic nerve. When the optic nerve’s myelin is damaged, vision can be affected and sometimes it can cause pain. Optic neuritis generally gets worse over a few days, and reaches a peak about two weeks from onset.
