Multiple Sclerosis

A chronic neurological disorder affecting the central nervous system.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological disorder affecting the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain and spinal cord. In MS, the immune system mistakenly attacks the coating that protects the nerves (called myelin), which helps messages travel quickly and smoothly from the brain to the muscles and organs to co-ordinate the functioning of the body.
