Gadolinium

A medical compound to help identify new lesions or scarring.

Doctors can distinguish between new and old lesions by using Gadolinium. The chemical compound is administered during an MRI via an injection into the vein and it helps doctors identify which areas are inflamed and thereby distinguish between active MS lesions or older areas of scarring.
